NIEVES
Nieves are a Glaswegian 4 piece with a growing following throughout the UK and Europe. Comparisons have ranged from Frightened Rabbit to the National and Bright Eyes with the bands piano driven sound and dark lyrics at the forefront.
The alt folk act have received high praise from online and print media since their formation. With airplay on BBC Radio 1, Radio X and Virgin Radio, their self titled debut E.P. was met with widespread critical acclaim. The band's second E.P. 'Matriarch', was again a success with the UK's leading radio stations and ensured that 2016 was awash with sold out headline shows and festival performances. Nieves found their way onto the 'Best of BBC Introducing' list on the back of only their second release as a band.
Nieves released their debut album 'Exist and Expire' in February 2018 and are currently celebrating the release with a string of shows across the UK.
"Lyrics that break your heart, a voice that makes you weep and melodies that make you sob" - Alternative Press Magazine
"Greatness may well be within the grasp of this creative Glasweigan four-piece" - Tenement TV
SHELLY RAVID
Still buzzing off her latest EP release ’Livin’ Large’ (No Joke Records, NY) which attracted great momentum in Jamaica by spinning on Irie FM, Ravid has spent the last couple of month working in the studio and writing new materials. She started making a name for herself back in 2015 when she toured Europé with dub producer Indica Dubs, played a warm up act for Channel One Sound System and did backing vocals for Earl Sixteen. Shortly after, Indica Dubs and Ravid’s collab ’Guide You’ was played on BBC Radio.
New music releases are now on the way and a debut album in the making ranging from Roots Reggae to dancehall pop, Ravid mixes her political lyrics, female empowering aim and sex positive attitude into a perfect blend.
"Ravid is definitely one to watch with her clear political message and upbeat sound"
Demur Magazine
